Collection of Articles: Educational U-turn. Who else is producing knowledges in culture?Published as part of the symposium of the 2nd Curatorial Forum, organized by the Northwestern Branch of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. The book includes translations of works by international researchers, as well as articles, interviews, and discussions that explore current issues in educational practices within museums and contemporary culture. The volume is complemented by a glossary—a dictionary of relevant terms.
How to Create an Engaging Book Layout Without Images? The main objective was to design a dynamic layout focused solely on text. Here are the solutions that were applied:
- Variety in Layout: Each section received a unique treatment: the main narrative, dialogues with highlighted cues, correspondence styled in a compact, rhythmic manner, with author cards and glossary sections distinguished through composition.
- Typography as the Main Tool: Paragraph rhythm and the combination of two typefaces contributed to the diversity and expressiveness of each section.
- Spread Composition: Special attention was paid to the balance of white space, the use of a grid, and varied text placement to sustain the reader’s interest and create an intuitive reading experience.
Result: Every spread captures attention. Even without illustrations, layout and typography become the key means of expression, giving the publication its distinctive character.
